Rowena started the practice in Avalon in 1999, choosing optometry as her profession because of its connection with people. Vision is such an important sense and when things aren’t right it can significantly impact quality of life. Volunteering in Sumba Indonesia and in rural NSW in the Aboriginal Eyecare Teams in addition to consulting to the Optometric and the Pharmaceutical industry’s has given a range of experiences in changing lives through vision.
As the Chair of the board of Provision, she is passionate about independent practice in Optometry. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends – walking, at the beach, out sailing or a little away from Avalon – on the ski slopes.
Rebecca loves all aspects of optometry as it lets her participate in tangible problem solving that makes a genuine difference to people. As a recent graduate Rebecca is at the cutting edge of research which allows her to find the most suitable and effective solutions for her patients. Outside of work she loves crochet and all things arts and crafts, collecting eye-themed items, going for walks, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog.
Stephanie enjoys practising full scope optometry. She has an interest in children’s vision, as some learning and behavioural concerns can stem from undiagnosed visual issues. Outside of work, when she is not running after her children, she enjoys spending time in the sun, baking and trying out new recipes.
